July 2019 Update from City on Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer Monitoring 

The City is participating in a Polyphagous Shot Hole Borer monitoring study with RPW Pest Control. The study aims to identify PSHB host trees and treat as necessary. The monitoring program began this week and will continue for the next 7-8 months. Monitoring includes the installation of bamboo stakes with purple, sticky paper attached. The paper also has a low dose of pheromones that aims to attract the pest. The sticky paper is about the size of a regular sheet of paper. Each monitoring device has a note explaining the program, materials used, and has Community Services contact information. More information on the program will be distributed next week.
